Carlos Garcia Pont was born and raised in Barcelona. After getting an engineering degree and an MBA in Barcelona, it took him four years in Boston to realize that there are not too many cities like his home city, so he came back to IESE Business School, his alma matter, where he has been in the faculty since 1992.
As a faculty member at IESE Business School for almost 30 years, Carlos combines teaching, research and management consultancy. He has pursued different activities in and out of academia, from helping to develop executive education or the development of the MBA within IESE to advisory initiatives, where he has collaborated with wealthy families and family-owned companies, to working with large publicly quoted companies. He is a well-known reference in strategy, organizational development and governance issues. Carlos has collaborated with several firms as a consultant, board member, senior advisor or as a member of the executive committee.
Carlos has also published extensively, with a particular focus on families and family business, strategic management and organizational development, and his articles can be found, among others, in Family Business Review, Strategic Management Journal, or Journal of Management Studies.
